Ahh, how time flies! What seems like yesterday was in fact nine years back, when a young and lost Anne Hathaway landed an assistant’s job in the fashion industry in The Devil Wears Prada, and stole our hearts. Fast forward to the present, and we find Anne Hathaway in the fashion industry once again in The Intern, but this time she holds the boss’ chair. Anne Hathaway may once again win our hearts with this comedy flick, though going by the trailer, I have no doubts that at least Robert De Niro definitely will!
What’s the movie plot: A 70-year-old widower, played by Robert De Niro, wants to come out of retirement and so he seizes an opportunity to get back in the game when he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Anne Hathaway’s character.
Who is the director: The movie has been directed by Nancy Meyers who is no stranger to comedies having worked on a host of them before like What Women Want and Something’s Gotta Give. The last movie Meyers directed was the 2009 movie It’s Complicated, so with The Intern, she has returned to directing duties after a big gap indeed. Nancy Meyers usually writes the story and screenplay for her movies, and that’s the case here too.
What about the cast: Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro are the leading actors in the movie. They may come from different time periods, but there is possibly very little these two cannot achieve on the big screen. Along with them, The Intern also stars the veteran actress Rene Russo, and young actors Natt Wolff and Adam DeVine.
Where to watch the trailer: Right here! This light-hearted comedy has a nice sweet premise, and is bound to shine in the capable hands of Nancy Meyers and its two star actors.
The Intern is scheduled to release in the USA on September 25, 2015.
