The excitement about the upcoming Pixar film, releasing in 2015, has to be more than the usual. Why, you ask? Because we were bereft of a movie from this fantastic studio this year, the first time such a thing has happened since 2005. The movie that was supposed to come out this year was The Good Dinosaur. But creative differences and change of director delayed this film, which is now slated for a late 2015 release. But before that Pixar has another treat to offer. The movie titled Inside Out, which from its trailer looks ready to become another Pixar masterpiece.
What’s the movie plot: The story is an absolute work of genius. It is about the five emotions residing within each one of us – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. These five emotions, living in Headquarters, guide young Riley through her everyday life. But Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, and soon turmoil ensues in Headquarters. The movie is thus set to explore the inside of the human mind.
Who’s directing the movie: Pixar veteran, Pete Docter is the one calling the shots on the sets of Inside Out. Docter has been with Pixar for a long long time, and has directed two brilliant movies already for the studio – Monsters, Inc. and Up. So it’s just fantastic to have him in the director’s chair again with such a wonderful script that has been written by him too. Ronaldo Del Carmen who has worked in the art department of Pixar for a while now will be co-directing Inside Out along with Pete Docter.
Which short movie will accompany Inside Out: Pixar’s shorts are sometimes as famous as their feature films. A lovely romantic story about a volcano titled Lava will precede Inside Out. You can read more about Lava here.
Where to watch the trailer: Right here! Pixar had released a teaser before, but this longer trailer gives a better idea of what to expect in the movie. Hilarious, intelligent, and charming, the trailer is a sign of good things to come.
Inside Out is scheduled to release in the USA on June 19, 2015.
