Bang. Bang. A body immobile on the blood soaked floor. That is what you will get in plenty in a movie on assassins. That is what would be seen a lot in Hitman: Agent 47 too. But there is something a bit more that fans of the popular video game series would be hoping for, and that is the famous stealth mode deployed by the Agent who only goes by the number ’47’. We had seen it in the previous movie Hitman of 2007, and going by the initial bits of the trailer of the upcoming reboot, we can expect the covertness of the agent to remain intact.
What’s the plot: Hitman: Agent 47 is expected to be different from the 2007 film in terms of its broad plot. While the previous movie had a political conspiracy at its centre, the new movie appears to be focusing on revealing the origins of the Agent Program. The plot reads like this, “An assassin teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry.”
Who’s in the cast: Rupert Friend takes over the role of Agent 47 from Timothy Olyphant (who I felt had done a good job in Hitman). It’s a big role for the young actor, and a chance to widen his fanbase. The bigger name in the movie though is of Zachary Quinto, who has a supporting role, though not much can be deciphered from the trailer as of now on the part that he will play in the movie.
Who’s directing the movie: Aleksander Bach is making his directorial debut with this movie. Untested waters here, so need to keep our fingers crossed.
Where to watch the trailer: Right here! There are some really enjoyable scenes in the trailer which will remind you of the video games, in case you have played them. Even if you haven’t, you still have the high-intensity action to relish.
Hitman: Agent 47 is scheduled to release in the USA on August 28, 2015.
