Disney’s Big Hero 6 fun-filled trailer

It’s been an iffy sort of a year for animation. The Lego Movie did set expectations high, but none of the big studios have really managed to “wow” the crowd later on. Now Disney is set to have a crack with Big Hero 6. Walt Disney Animation Studios has of course found its groove back in recent years, delivering some memorable movies with Bolt, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, to name a few, and not forgetting the crazy hit Frozen of last year. While the achievements of the musical would be hard to match, there is a lot of goodwill around Disney now for its feature films. Going by the trailer of Big Hero 6, we could expect that to continue as another fun-filled adventure awaits!

What’s the plot: In simple words, Big Hero 6 is about a group of six superheroes saving the world. But this ain’t like the Avengers, though it does come from the Marvel world too (Disney owns Marvel now, remember?). The group has a young robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada and his self-created robot Baymax who uncover a criminal plot and end up putting together a team of inexperienced crime-fighters to solve the mystery surrounding the crime. Expect some Disney-like warmth with Marvel-like intensity in this one!

Who are voicing the characters: Ahh, well, we got a list of actors here. Young Ryan Potter (of Supah Ninja TV series) will lend his voice to Hamanda while Scott Adsit (30 Rock) will be voicing Baymax. Then we have T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, and Daniel Henney. Not necessarily a cast one would be too familiar with. But then it is about getting the voice to connect with the heart of the character here, right? Doesn’t necessarily work with an A-list of stars.

Who is directing the film: We got Don Hall, who directed Winnie the Pooh for Disney before, and we also have Chris Williams, whose directing experience includes Bolt. So Disney continues with the 2-man directorial team for the film, and with both of them having a long working history with Disney, we could count on them to deliver something entertaining.

Where’s the trailer: Right here! With what little the trailer provides us, the movie seems to be one that will have humour rolled in with adventure, and some Disney magic to charm the heart. Enjoy!

Big Hero 6 releases in the USA on November 7, 2014.
