Bid adieu to 2014

But now comes the day … To bid you farewell

– The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Another year goes past us; another year which has tried its utmost to entertain us with movies of varied genres, varied stories, varied themes. Some succeeded, some exceeded expectations, some disappointed, and some are best forgotten. Like any other year, Hollywood has seen its ups and downs in 2014 too. This has not been a year of record-shattering box-office collections in North America, like the previous two were, but in terms of being an eventful year, it hasn’t been behind its predecessors. I could manage to watch 50 movies that released this year, the posters of which are hidden in the collage below. And while there are the good, the bad and the ugly amongst the lot, each one of them has been a ride worth remembering.
