The Avengers have assembled again! The trailer of the much much awaited Avengers: Age of Ultron has been released a week early by Marvel. Why? An unofficial and poor quality trailer had already been leaked, which prompted Marvel to release its higher quality version probably so as not to ruin the whole first viewing experience of the upcoming blockbuster. And they did it with a tongue-in-cheek reference to their own in-stories, tweeting “Dammit, Hydra”. Way to go Marvel! So time to sit back and watch this time-stopping, goosebump-inducing trailer of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Ahha, so many theories would begin again with this trailer. Joss Whedon and his team have unleashed the perfect opening teaser that reveals little of the story but promises so much. It has a gloomy look, with a lot of attention drawn to the big villain of the day, Ultron. He is being voiced by James Spader, and those spooky menacing tones do make the whole appearance of Ultron look sinister!
We have Tony Stark proclaiming “This is the end”, Thor dropping his hammer Mjölnir, Captain America’s cracked shield (which reminded me of Batman’s cracked mask in the hands of Bane), so there is no arguing that things are looking really bad for the Avengers. But they will surely find a way, though with what consequences?
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, the ‘miracles’ from the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, make an appearance on the side of Ultron. Their history and their powers would be something new and exciting to add to the premise of the movie, and we expect them to make a turnaround at some point and join the Avengers. If you are watching each scene carefully, then you would have noticed the brief appearance of a harried looking Andy Serkis, though his part has not been revealed yet. Oh, and the big Iron Man armour is actually the Hulkbuster which was actually designed in the comics by Tony Stark to battle the Hulk given the latter’s unpredictability. So is that Tony Stark underneath the armour, that is not known for sure from this trailer, as it may very well be Ultron who has crept into it. Nonetheless, Iron Man is truly back in the mix of things, despite bringing the “house down” at the end of Iron Man 3. Eh, but we always knew this day was coming! Black Widow seems ready to kick ass as always, and Hawkeye is back with the gang again. Will there be glimpses of Thanos? Could be interesting to see him being tied-up again with this adventure. No Loki though, that has already been told. We still have so much to look forward to… Joss Whedon’s magic is about to amaze us soon!
Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled to release in the USA on May 1, 2015.
